About Borgata Poker

License

BP Gaming Entertainment, the U.S.-based entity that represents online gaming operator bwin.party, has a license in both Nevada and New Jersey. Borgata Poker represents bwin.party's partnership with Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa for online poker.

Company

BP Gaming's parent company, bwin.party, is the result of a merger between Austria-based sportsbook bwin and UK-based online poker site PartyGaming on March 31, 2011, which made it the world's largest publicly traded online gaming company. PartyPoker was once the No. 1 most-trafficked online poker site in the world, but its numbers understandably plummeted when it voluntarily shut its virtual doors to U.S. players following the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in 2006. However, the fact that they left the U.S. market, combined with a $105 million settlement they made with the U.S. government as part of a 'non-prosecution agreement' made it able to pursue gaming licenses in Nevada and New Jersey.

Interactive Gaming Partners

bwin.party has partnered with both MGM Resorts International and Boyd Entertainment on Oct. 31, 2011. The result was the eventual formation of BP Gaming Entertainment. MGM holds a 25% stake in that company, Boyd has 10%, and bwin.party owns the majority stake with the remaining 65%. The partnership will result in a network of poker clients skinned to reflect each company's various brands.

In the case of New Jersey online poker, bwin.party is working with two brands: Party and Borgata. Borgata Poker will have strong ties to and promotions with Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, though it shares a player pool with PartyPoker.

Borgata iRewards program

The iRewards loyalty program at Borgata Poker is quite worthwhile. It is a tiered program, which means the more you play, the better and the higher the rewards.

Earn iRewards points (iRP) simply by playing in real money Borgata poker games. Ring games award 2 points for each $1 in rake contributed. Whereas Borgata Poker tournaments award points based upon the entry fee at a rate of 2 points for every $1 in entry fees paid.

Redeem your iReward points

Be sure to check out the rewards store by logging into Borgata Poker. Then, from the homepage, click the “Rewards” tab. From there, click on the “iRewards Store.”

Redeem your iRewards Points (iRP) for a variety of items from the store, cash (rakeback) or even online bonuses. Store items include clothes, electronics and even accessories.

In addition, use your iRPs for tournament dollars and entries or “express comps” that are redeemable for hotel rooms or dining at MGM properties.

Certain items, like cash, bonuses or tournament dollars, are available immediately in your player account. Other items like, “express comps,” take about one business day to show up in your M life (MGM rewards) account. Finally, physical items, e.g., clothing, take around two weeks.
