“Over the last few weeks our team has done an incredible job implementing enhanced cleaning measures but as this situation continues to develop, we feel that we need to take a bigger step in preventing the potential spread of the virus,” Laura Stensgar, CEO of Coeur d’Alene Casino, said in a statement. “We did not make this decision alone and have the full support of the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Council and tribal members.”
Bus services to the property will be discontinued during the closure.
The nearby Conoco gas station store will be closed, but pumps will remain in operation 24 hours a day. The Circling Raven Golf Club is expected to open March 27 and will follow safety protocols, according to the statement.
Coeur d’Alene Casino announced earlier this month that large gatherings, which include meetings, conferences and concerts, are postponed through the end of April. It is working to reschedule each event.
Coeur d’Alene Casino employees will continue to receive wages and benefits during the closure.
