New York now has legal sports betting, although it’s not online yet. Just under a dozen upstate casinos can operate brick-and-mortar sportsbooks at the moment.

Daily fantasy sportsand horse racing are also legal — and regulated — in New York.

The following day, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman opened an inquiry into DraftKings and FanDuel, asking each site for a range of internal data and details on how they prevent fraud. ESPN announced on October 6 that they would no longer be running segments sponsored by DraftKings, though paid DraftKings advertisements would continue. The two top companies in Daily Fanatsy Sports are partners in legal sportsbooks in Upstate New York: DraftKings is a partner at del Lago Resort & Casino near Waterloo in the Finger Lakes.
